It's very interesting to see this historical environment. Thinking about early Christians in Italy has me wondering their thoughts on attending a chapel, underground in the catacombs. At first it must have been difficult for some to believe in the Christian faith when they are forced to practice the Christian religion in this environment. Maybe some were outraged and maybe some were content with the fact that they were still able to practice their religion without being persecuted.
I'm curios to see the forming of these catacomb chapels and how they eventually progressed out of the catacombs into the actually chapels we now have today.
I agree with Logan. Its interesting how Christianity ended up flourishing when its followers were reduced to being sent under ground. At first i thought that the catacombs were put into place so that all the Christians could one day rise from the dead together. But the multiple additions with kitchens and chapels seems to indicate secretive growth from the bowels of the earth.
